Allowing URLs and disabling SSL Decryption in the Google Admin Console

We occasionally have schools that report that Makers Empire appears offline on Chromebook devices, even though the device has a good connection to the Internet. For example, this has occurred in some South Australian public schools.

Sometimes when Chromebooks are managed by an IT department or district, they will need to add Makers Empires URLs to the allow list in firewall.

To make these changes, your IT administrator will need to go to the firewall settings and add explicit rules to allow connections to our servers, for the following URLs:

dash.makersempire.com

files.makersempire.com

3d.makersempire.com

makersempireprd.blob.core.windows.net

If after making these changes, you still see Makers Empire as offline, try to get one of the Chromebooks to connect to a wifi hotspot on your phone, and see if the app works as expected. This will narrow down the issue to being a school network problem, or an issue with the Chromebook device. If Makers Empire works through your phone hotspot, then please contact your IT department to try and resolve the issue.

Once online, if your users see the following error message when logging in with Google Accounts:

Access blocked: Your institution's admin needs to review Makers Empire
