‼️Important Requirements

Before you will be able to edit your classes Planet settings, a few things need to be in place first.

  1. Your classes Planet must be created before you can modify its settings

You wont be able to access the Planet settings until the Planet for your class is generated. This is done on the first time someone from your class clicks the Planet card within the challenge course and loads into the Planet.

  2. Your students will have to re-join the Planet to apply your updated settings

The settings for the Planet are applied when the user loads into the Planet. This means that after you make a change to the settings, if your students are already loaded into the Planet, these settings won't apply and you need them to exit the Planet and load back in. Don't worry though, the app will cache the Planet data meaning that joining the Planet after your first time loading in will be much faster.

🔭 How do I access the settings of a Planet?

All of the management of Planets is done via the Teacher Dashboard. Once you are logged into the Dashboard, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the 'progress reports' section under student work. Make sure you have starred the class you wish to change the settings for.

  2. Once you are here you'll need to pick your class and select the challenge course you are doing with your class.

  3. Now that you have selected the challenge course, you should see all your students and their current progress in the challenge course. At the top of this grid, there are several icons, each representing the different steps within the challenge course. Find the Planet icon and click it, this will open a popup that contains a button to go to the Planet Dashboard.

🪐 Planet Dashboard

The Planet Dashboard allows you to view all the designs your students have placed on the planet, the reactions they have as well as access the Planet's settings.

You can also delete certain designs from the Planet if your students are having issues or the designs are disruptive for you class.
