Planets is a feature Makers Empire that brings real-time multiplayer collaboration to the classroom. This feature is only available via school subscriptions & free school trials.

πŸ‘€ Who can access Planets?

Since Planets is only available to schools, only students with accounts associated with schools can join a planet and interact with this feature.

Additionally, students can only interact with other people from their specific classes, which are set up by their teachers via our Teacher Dashboard.

These two measures alone ensure that your students are safe and protected whilst learning and designing within Planets.

πŸ—£οΈ How do students communicate?

Most of the time students will be in class together whilst they're using Planets, so are able to communicate in person. To assist with this, we have implemented a few ways they can communicate with each other in app.

πŸ•Ί Emotes

When using Planets, students can use various action and speech bubble emotes to assist with communication. These are all designed and approved by the Makers Empire team and are all safe and kid friendly phrases and actions.

Example of students using the wave action emote and a speech bubble emote.

🀩 Reactions

When a student has placed one of their designs on a planet, other students can walk up to it and pick between pre-set emoji reactions to show support to their classmates.

πŸ“ Feedback

Students can leave feedback on their classmates designs by walking up and choosing to leave some. This feedback goes through our already in place censors and filters to filter out anything negative or dangerous.

Teachers will also be able to see the feedback that students leave on the teacher dashboard which adds an extra layer of security for students.
