Aside from 3D printing students designs made in the Makers Empire app, there are many more applications for those designs. One such application is using your students designs as props or avatars on the popular AR/VR creation platform Delightex.

NOTE: Delightex is not made by Makers Empire and therefore we do not provide support for the app, this is simply a guide showing how Makers Empire 3D models can be use in other software.

Delightex supports 3D models in OBJ and GLB formats, both of which can be exported from Makers Empire.

So let's see how we can export your 3D models from Makers Empire and bring them into Delightex.

Makers Empire and Delightex can both be used on desktop and mobile devices. The process is more or less the same for Desktop and Mobile.

First make sure you are logged into Makers Empire, then browse My Designs or Gallery to find the design you want to download.

2. Click the image to see more details and options for that design.

3. Click the Download button.

4. Choose 3D Files

5. Select "Web Download" which will take you to the teacher dashboard where other formats can be downloaded.

6. Find the design you want to download. As a teacher using Class Management > Student Work: View and Assess is the most efficient way to find your students' work. You can also find an individual student's work via Class Management > Classes.

7.

Once you've found the design you want, click the More Options button (the three dots) and select Download 3D Files to begin processing/generating your 3D files. This can take a few minutes.

8.

Go to Print Management > My 3D Files to find your processed designs. Click the Download icon and select the file format that you need. As mentioned previously OBJ and GLB are the best choice of format for Delightex.

• GLB contains full-colour 3D model data in a single file.
• OBJ contains 3D model data in a zip file, the OBJ contains geometry and dimensions and the companion MTL file contains full-colour or texture data.

9. Follow the system prompts to download your files to your device.

10. Login to Delightex and create a new scene in a project.

11. Select "upload > 3D models > Upload" to open a dialog box to choose the file you just downloaded from Makers Empire.

12. The files should be in your downloads folder whether you are using a desktop or mobile device. Select the zip if you chose OBJ or the GLB file if you chose that option, both options work.

13. On selecting the file a dialog box will open showing the file is uploading. Once this is done an icon will appear in your uploads tab in the Delightex interface. Simply drag and drop it into the workspace to add the 3D model. The model may need to be scaled up if you can't see it.

If the upload failed or you were not able to choose the files during the upload stage, you may need to rename your file to something simpler(Delightex may struggle with long file names or special characters).
