There are a few reasons why you may need to change the nozzle on an Adventurer 5m Pro, perhaps if there's a bad blockage or a nozzle is damaged. The process is pretty straightforward, and should take 5-10 minutes. Follow the steps below to ensure you completed the change successfully.

Step 1:

Ensure the printer is turned OFF

Step 2:

Begin by cutting the filament just above the extruder head, similar to how you would change the filament.

Step 3:

Identify the red levers on the print head, and squeeze them inwards together. This will release the print head, which should drop out, or you may need to gently pull down on it.

Step 4:

Prepare your new nozzle and ensure you orient it so the connector is towards the back of the printer. Then clip the nozzle up into the print head, ensuring you hear a 'click' and see the red levers move.

Tip: If you're having trouble inserting the nozzle, remove the front of the fan shroud - it is magnetic, pull it upwards (it is quite tight, so push up, hard). This will let you see if there is any filament blocking the nozzle:

Step 5:

Turn the printer back ON and use the preheat function to check that the print head has been installed correctly. If it has not been installed correctly you will see an "abnormal temperature" error.

Step 6:

On the printer's LCD screen go to "filament"(filament spool icon) and load the filament to fully test if the nozzle was installed correctly.

Step 7:

In the "FlashPrint" software, make sure to change the nozzle size to reflect the new nozzle you just installed: e.g. if you changed the nozzle from 0.4 to 0.6 this must be changed in software to achieve the best results.

Note: If you want to take the extruder head apart (you shouldn't need to do this, but filament may get caught on the cog/gear!) there is a step-by-step guide in our help centre.
