If you've updated your Mac OS to Sequoia recently or just bought a new Mac, you might find this article useful. If you were intending to prepare something for printing on your flashforge printer, you may have found that flashprint isn't working for you.
You may be greeted with messages like this when trying to install.
Or have the notorious blocked icon where you previously saw the flashprint app icon.
"FlashPrint cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer."
Do not fear, this issue is easily resolvable with some quick workarounds. First go to the downloads section of the flashforge website and grab the latest installer for Mac. Once downloaded.
Hold the β command key and right-click the pkg file and click Open
If this doesn't allow you to install, right click then select "show package contents".
Then enter Contents folder and drag Archive.pax.gz out of the folder and extract it. The extracted file is the Flashprint app which you should now be able to open. Drag it into your applications folder for easy access.
You may still be blocked from opening the app. If this is the case, go into "Settings" > "Privacy & Security" and scroll down to the bottom. If you've already attempted to open flashprint you'll see this section.
Click "open anyway" on both dialog boxes. Once you retry opening the software it should open without issue.
Important Note
Flashprint is not a product created by Makers Empire, but instead, created by a Chinese company called FlashForge.
