Have you come across this annoying error while trying to print on your Flashforge adventurer 5M Pro? The error message reads “No trigger on probe please check level sensor”
This talk of probes might sound scary but it’s actually quite an easy fix. As your printer moves around over the course of many print jobs, important connections may become dislodged or sensors may become blocked. This error stems from a communication error with the printers mainboard and the printer platform.
This error can occur even if the end stop sensors in the printer are blocked by printing debris. First ensure your printer is free of any filament debris especially between the Z end-stop sensor at the back of the printer.
According to the Flashforge wiki the other cause of the issue is the 2 ribbon cables becoming detached or dislodged underneath the print platform.
The first step to resolving the issue is to move the print bed up to the maximum height. You can do this from the settings menu, by pressing the up arrow on the far right of the position screen.
The platform should be just below the printhead, allowing maximum room for working on the underside of the printer platform.
There is a small black plastic cover on the underside of the print platform which can be removed with moderate force. The thick ribbon cable may be still attached, but the reason for the error message is that this cable is not seated properly. To resolve this issue, we simply need to unplug these cables and reattach them.
CAUTION! be very careful with the ribbon cables they are quite delicate and the contacts on the ends of them can be easily damaged if they are handled too roughly. If damaged this will make the situation worse and you may need to order new cables.
Once you’ve reattached the ribbon cables, put the cover back on and attempt to print. The issue should now be resolved.
