Have you come across this annoying error while trying to print on your Flashforge adventurer 5M Pro? The error message reads “No trigger on probe please check level sensor”

The level probe is a sensor within the print bed that is used for levelling. As your printer moves around over the course of many print jobs, important connections may become dislodged or sensors may become blocked. This error can stem from many different factors.

Clean the printer

Keeping the area under your print bed free from debris is imperative. If the bed crashes into any objects left under the bed it can sometimes lead to the bed being pushed out of line. Debris can also block the limit sensor at the back of the print causing the bed to make a juddering sound when it reaches the bottom of the printer.

Misaligned Bed

How to level the bed on a Flashforge Adventurer 5 printer?

If something has caused the bed to be pushed out of line i.e a previous print or object left under a moving print bed. The bed will need to be realigned to the base of the printer.

Turn the printer on its side and locate the tension screw(red) and make a note of its position so it can be returned to the original setting after realigning the bed. Undo this screw until the belt slackens. Once the belt is slack the threaded rods inside the printer or the pulley wheel(blue) can be twisted until the bed plate is level with the base of the printer.

After realignment

Once the bed is realigned with the base of the printer, ensure all screws are returned to the original position. Attempt to recalibrate.

Loose Ribbon Cable

Another likely cause is a short or disconnect in the ribbon cable attached to the underside of the print bed. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and fix this issue.

Step 1:

Begin by ensuring the bed is raised to the top of the printer. You can do this with the 'Move' button within settings.

Step 2:

Remove the ribbon cable cover from underneath the print platform.

Step 3:

Unclip both ribbon connectors, and clip them back in, ensuring they are seated firmly in place. NOTE: There could be glue on the ribbon cable this will gently need to be removed in order to reseat the cable.

Step 4:

Re-attached the ribbon cable cover.

from a communication error with the printers mainboard and the printer platform. Reinstall ribbon cable cover.

CAUTION! be very careful with the ribbon cables they are quite delicate and the contacts on the ends of them can be easily damaged if they are handled too roughly. If damaged this will make the situation worse and you may need to order new cables.
