This is for the UP Box+, if you have an UP Box, please follow these instructions: http://help.makersempire.com/hardware-help/i-need-to-manually-level-the-bed-on-my-up-box-original

โ€‹NOTE: Although the UP Box and UP Box+ have auto levelling, for it to be effective, you may need to manually level the bed.ย

Manually levelling the bed will get it flat, which means prints will stick much better.

Step 1.

We'll need to begin by resetting the group of numbers. Do this by simply clicking 'Reset'.

Step 2.

Tighten the four knobs underneath the platform firmly tight. There are two visible at the front, but the last two are under the back of the platform. You may need to look underneath.

Step 3.

After tightening the four knobs, click on 'Nozzle Detect'. Please note that you should check that there are no pieces of plastic hanging from the nozzle. This can affect the Nozzle Height Detection.

Step 4.

Once the Nozzle Height Detection has finished, write down the number that is in yellow. Then subtract two from that number. E.g. If the number is 211.01, I would need to write down 209.01.

Step 5.

Take the number, minus 2mm (E.g. 209.01) and type that into the box as shown below. Then click move.

At this point, the platform of the printer should have raised up and be roughly 2mm away from the nozzle. Feel free to check this visually, and get in contact if something has gone wrong.

Step 6.

Get a small piece of paper and fold it in half. Now that the platform has moved up, click on the number '7' to bring the nozzle to the front left of the platform.

Step 7.

Place the folded piece of paper between the nozzle and the platform. Then, while wiggling the paper forward and back underneath the nozzle, slowly loosen the knob on the platform. Keep loosening until you feel slight friction between the paper, the platform and the nozzle.

NOTE: This may take many full turns, sometimes up to about 25 turns.

Step 8.

Next, click on number '9' and repeat the previous step: Loosening until you feel slight friction between the paper, the platform and the nozzle.

Step 9.

Then, click on number '1'. This one can be a bit tricky, but like before, put the folded paper in between the platform and the nozzle and reaching underneath to the knob, slowly loosen it until you feel slight friction (This knob loosens in the same direction as the previous ones).

Step 10.

Next we need to click on number '3'. Then, using the paper again, loosen the knob until you feel slight friction.

Step 11.

Once you've finished loosening the knob under number 3 so there's slight friction between the paper, the platform and the nozzle, repeat steps 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 to check if it's still flat. At this point, you may need to tighten or loosen the knobs depending on how much friction you feel.

Step 12.

Once your confident that the three points have the same amount of slight friction, click on confirm and you're ready to go!
